Akwaaba Oil Refinery Ltd donates to Ghana consulate in China

Akwaaba Oil Refinery Ltd. is an oil company located on the Spintex road in Ghana and deals in oil refinery. It is a subsidiary company of the Zhang group of companies, which has operated in Ghana for the past 11 years.

Since its establishment about four years ago, Akwaaba oil has employed a little over 200 local Ghanaian workers. More importantly Akwaaba oil is noted for its cooperate social responsibility to the people of Ghana. It is in this vein that its CEO Mr. Johnny Zhuang (a.k.a Captain Johnny) consistently and progressively appear in the news for his charity.

In response to some of the current challenges facing some Ghanaian residents in

Guangdong as result of the COVID-19 crisis, the CEO of the Akwaaba Oil refinery limited and Zhong Hao International Group, Mr. Johnny Zhuang visited the Ghana Consulate in Guangzhou. He was received by the Ghana Ambassador to China; Mr. Edward Boateng who had also come to Guangzhou to meet with the leadership of the Ghana Community and the Consular-General, Mr. Samuel Yaw Nsiah.
The Company made a donation to support some of the Ghanaians facing difficulties in the Guangdong Province,


During their meeting, Captain Johnny highlighted that, he had travelled extensively in Africa in, but the hospitality, generosity and the peaceful nature of Ghanaians and the stable and peaceful political/economic environment Ghana enjoys, encouraged him to invest and make Ghana his second home outside China.
Captain Johnny mentioned that, upon hearing the challenges facing some Ghanaians in Guangzhou and its surrounding cities, he deemed it fit to call on the Consulate General to extend a hand of support since he considers Ghana as a home too. His donation was accepted by the Consul General Mr. Samuel Yaw Nsiah.

The Ghanaian Ambassador and the Consul General showed their appreciation by offering Captain Johnny a gift of a Gye Nyame Plaque which symbolizes the character of a Ghanaian and expressed their appreciation for the donation and kind gesture.
