Bankroller of King Faisal, Alhaji Karim Grunsah has described Asante Kotoko Chairman Dr. Kwame Kyei as the best sports personality of the year while naming the Sports Minister, Normalisation Committee and coach Bashir Hayford as the worse in the year under review for their roles in the Black Queens abysmal performance at the 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations.

With eleven days to the end of the year 2018, several sports pundits and enthusiasts have started sharing their opinion on the sports personalities that stood out in the year under review.

2018 will certainly be known as one of the most memorable years in Ghana sports but for all the wrong reasons with many scandals rocking the industry.

In an interview with Ohene Bampoe–Brenya on Happy FM’s Anopa Bosuo Sports, the controversial football administrator opined that Dr. Kwame Kyei’s determination to save the country embarrassment by bankrolling the Porcupine Warriors’ CAF Confederation Cup campaign makes him his sports personalities of the year.

“My best sports personality for the year is Dr. Kwame Kyei. The decision he to allow Kotoko play in Africa saved Ghana from disgrace. We would have missed continental competition for a whole year. So for me he is the best sports personality of the year,” Grunsah stated.

The outspoken was bullish in answer when quizzed on who is his worse sports personality of the year as he named Isaac Asiamah, coach Bashir Hayford and the Normalisation Committee as worse sports personalities of the year.

Grunsah attributed to the shambolic performance the Black Queens in the AWCON where they existed in the group stage as evident of his claim that the aforementioned trio were the worse in the year under review.

“The Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah, the Normalisation Committee and coach Bashir Hayford are my worse sports personalities of the year. They promised as all host and win but they failed. They all have to accept responsibility for the shambolic performance of the Black Queens in the AWCON”.
