‘Angry’ NDC delegates boycotting NDC congress as voting drags

Some angry delegates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have started leaving the Fantasy Dome of the Trade Fair Centre in Accra without casting ballots.

The angry delegates who are mainly from the Brong Ahafo Region are boycotting the polls in protest of the poor organisation of the polls.

The delegates have cited the failure of the organisers to allow them cast their ballots as part of the reasons for their insistence at leaving the congress grounds despite their inability to cast their ballots.

Some of the delegates, Eric Adjei, Deputy Brong Ahafo Regional Communications Officer of the NDC said on UTV that they suspect deliberate attempts to prevent delegates from the region from casting their ballots.

“I met 49 delegates at the gates who were leaving the grounds angrily because they said they suspect deliberate attempts by organisers to prevent them from casting their ballots…they claimed they are being prevented from voting because they have great candidates who can win the polls…,” he alleged in an interview with Nana Yaw Kesse.

Adjei further appealed to the organisers of the party to ensure that delegates from the region are ‘fed’ with breakfast.

“Some of the drivers who transported them (delegates) here are also demanding extra charges for the delay…,” he claimed further.
