Asante Kotoko coach C.K Akunnor excited over team’s improvement

Asante Kotoko coach Charles Akunnor has expressed his delight with his side’s improvement following their win over ZESCO United in the CAF Confederation Cup on Wednesday.

The Porcupine Warriors recorded their first win of the campaign after inflicting a 2-1 defeat on Zambian giants ZESCO United on matchday two of the competition at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Despite a few lapses in the side’s defense, coach Akunnor claims there is little to complain about after watching the team exhibit massive improvement in the victory over the Zambians last Wednesday.

“I have seen a lot of improvement in the team. Gradually the players are adapting to my way of wanting them to play and they have improved very well for as to get to this far, the boys need to be praised,” the former AshantiGold coach stated on Happy FM‘s Anopa Bosuo Sports.

Akunnor was asked to expatiate on reasons behind his team’s continuous blunders at the back after leaking in goals in all their matches in the campaign including the qualifying round.

“I am trying with my technical team to use players who can fit in a particular game that’s why we keep making some changes to our selections,” he deduced.
