Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew has disclosed his interest in playing in the Ghana Premier League before he retires from professional football.
Ayew revealed in an interview that he is considering the possibility of playing in the local league and expressed a specific interest in representing a team based in Accra.
“The Ghana Premier League is something that I have in mind one day I could play for a team in Accra because I base in Accra,” he told Gtv Sports Plus.
Ayew has formerly played for Marseille, Sochaux, Aston Villa, and Swansea City, and he is now under contract with Crystal Palace in the Premier League. He agreed to a new contract with the Eagles earlier this year, which will keep him with the team until next year.
He had a fantastic end to last season, coinciding with the club’s rise to secure a mid-table finish and stay in the Premier League.
With his abundance of experience and proven goal-scoring prowess, his probable participation in the Ghana Premier League would add interest and attention to the domestic league.
The 29-year-old striker has earned over 90 caps and scored 19 goals for the Black Stars.
