Ayima Chief Urges Government to Reassign Stalled E-Block Project for Completion

The Chief of Ayima, Obrempong Amponsam II, has appealed to the government and the Ministry of Education to reassign the long-abandoned Ayima E-Block project to a new contractor to ensure its timely completion.

Speaking at the community’s annual Yam Festival, Obrempong Amponsam II expressed concern that the project, which began in 2016 under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, has been left unattended since the change in administration.

He noted that nearly a decade after its commencement, the project remains incomplete, depriving the community of the educational benefits it was meant to provide.

The chief, together with his elders and residents, is calling on authorities to prioritize the completion of the project and consider converting the structure into a technical and vocational training institution, citing the lack of such a facility within the Kintampo South District.

He explained that transforming the E-Block into a technical and vocational centre would offer young people in the area practical skills and employment opportunities, helping to reduce unemployment and promote local development.
