Majority Leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has urged the Chairman of the Appointments Committee of Parliament to resist any attempts of bullying by Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin.

According to Ato Forson, matters relating to the dismissal and appointments of Chief Executive Officers has nothing to do with the vetting of Minister-Designate for Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza.

He told the Chairman to rule Afenyo-Markin out of order because the purpose of the sitting is to vet the Minister responsible for Roads and Highways and not to come and discuss Chief Executive Officers.

“Matters relating to the dismissal and appointments of Chief Executive Officers are different from the matter before this committee. The Minority Leader is bringing in matters that have nothing to do with why we are here and we will not tolerate it.”

Ato Forson added that the Minority Leader can use other platforms to voice his concerns but he cannot hijack the vetting committee.

“The Minority Leader can use the media and other platforms available to him to address his issue but he cannot use this platform because we are here to vet the Minister responsible for roads and not what he is talking about. Parliament will resume tomorrow so he can go and raise his issue there.”
