The Black Starlets have safely returned to Accra after an impressive campaign at the 2025 WAFU B U17 Boys Championship in Côte d’Ivoire, where they finished as runners-up and secured qualification to the 2026 U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The team, led by head coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, touched down in the early hours of Sunday to a warm welcome from management members and officials of the Ghana Football Association (GFA). The young side won plaudits for their quality, discipline, and determination, which saw them advance to the final before narrowly missing out on the trophy.

Members of the GFA’s Executive Council were present at the team’s hotel to celebrate the contingent, applauding the players and technical staff for restoring belief and pride in Ghanaian youth football. In recognition of their spirited run, the Association also announced substantial financial rewards for both the players and technical team.

The squad expressed gratitude to the GFA for the support shown throughout the tournament and pledged to continue working hard as preparations begin for the continental showpiece in Morocco next year.
