The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has banned Ghana from participating in the next two editions of the U-17 Africa Women’s qualifiers and also fined $100,000.
Ghana has been banned for fielding two unqualified players after a protest by Morocco.
Morocco filed a protest against Ghana after the first leg encounter in Accra which they lost 2-0.
In their protest Ghana had fielded two unqualified players Nancy Amoh and Rasheeda Shahadu who had falsified their birthdate information and are above U17.
The Ghana Football Association had the chance to appeal the decision by providing concrete evidence in a written response to the CAF Disciplinary Board but didn’t comply which resulted into this huge sanction.
Ghana still have the opportunity to protest the decision at the CAF Appeal Board.
