CAF Confederation Cup: Asante Kotoko name 18-man squad for vital clash against Zesco United

Asante Kotoko coach Charles Akonnor has named a strong 18-man squad for their crucial CAF Confederation Cup match against ZESCO United on Sunday.

The squad includes experienced Jordan Opoku but Daniel Nii Adjei’s name is conspicuously missing from the squad.

It is not yet known what might have influenced the decision by the gaffer to snub the former TP Mazembe midfielder, who was handed his debut against Al Hilal in last Sunday’s 1-1 draw game at the BabaYara Stadium.

Talisman Sogne Yacouba will be a big miss for the Porcupine Warriors as he is suspended for the clash.

In-form midfielder Richard Senanu and Abdul Ganiyu failed to make the squad due to injuries sustained for the past weeks.

Striker Dany Teguy Zabo and Frederick Boateng have made the list likewise Prince Acquah who has been absent in their last two games.

Kotoko have their destiny in their own hands after they failed to beat the Hilal in Kumasi in their last home match.

A victory for the Porcupines takes them to 10 points, which is enough for their qualification regardless of what happens Al Hilal and Nkana FC in Sudan.

Below is the squad

Felix Annan

Muntari Tagoe

Augustine Sefah

Amos Frimpong

Agyeman Badu

Wahab Adams

Kwame Bonsu Conte

Umer Bashiru

Emmanuel Gyamfi

Jordan opoku

Obed Owusu

Fatau Abdul

Habib Mohammmed

Prince Acquah

Stephen Nyarko

Frederick Boateng

Daniel Darkwa

Dany Zabo Teguy.
