Campaign against malaria launched in Bono Region

The Ghana Health has launched an indoor residual spray campaign to fight malaria in Nkrankwanta in the Dormaa West District of the Bono Region. The project which is being funded by the Government of Ghana is aimed at demonstrating a strong commitment to protecting the health and wellbeing of citizens in the fight against malaria.

The launch on the theme “indoor residual spreading; a step towards a malaria free Ghana”, involves spraying of the inner walls of houses where mosquitoes vectors are known to rest with an effective residual insectidies.

Speaking at the Launch the Bono Regional Health Director, Dr. kofi Amoh Kodie, said three (3) in every four (4) persons who visit the hospital has malaria, hence government’s response to implement one of its interventional activities aimed at mitigating the spread against malaria.

The Director of Public Health at Dormaa West, Dr. Franklin Aseidu – Bekoe assured residence of protecting their privacy when the campaign begins.

He emphasized the need to join hands to make the initiative worthwhile as it would minimize the spread of malaria in the country.

The Director General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Patrick Kumah Aboagye, called for stakeholders involvement and investment in Malaria invention.
