Former Municipal Chief Executive of Assin Fosu, Mr. Antwi Boasiako, has appealed for calm and unity among the divided supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Assin Central Constituency.
His appeal comes in the wake of the arrest of three NDC supporters, an incident that has sparked a series of press conferences and intensified tensions within the party’s local factions.
Mr. Boasiako revealed to the media that he is actively working with Mr. Richard Asiedu, the Central Regional Chairman of the NDC who was allegedly defamed by the trio, as well as the police, to facilitate the release of the detained supporters.
He stressed the importance of unity within the party, emphasizing that internal cohesion is essential for securing victory in the next election.
Mr. Antwi Boasiako explained that the scuffle originated from the Assembly Members’ refusal to endorse Charlotte Boakye as the Municipal Chief Executive for Assin Fosu.
