Ghana’s premium high-definition satellite broadcast service provider, SES HD PLUS and Ghana’s No.1 Sports and Current Affairs station; Happy98.9FM have partnered to provide free health screening for families as part of celebrations to mark Father’s Day on Saturday June 18, 2022.
Under the event name; “Father’s Day Out” , HD+ and HappyFM will treat families to an amazing time at the Legon Botanical Gardens with an outdoor barbeque and drinks, variety of food, medical screening, family bonding activities, games and many more.

Elwoode Mantey; Programmes Manager for Happy98.9FM, speaking on the health screening indicated that, fathers sacrifice their time and attention to their family and barely have time to take care of their health. “With this in mind, we decided to organize this health screening for fathers to take care of themselves. We are not only going to screen for prostate cancer but we will also screen the eye and other critical functions.”
Prostate cancer is cancer that occurs in the prostate. The prostate is a small walnut-shaped gland in males that produces the seminal fluid that nourishes and transports sperm. It is one of the most common types of cancer.

Speaking on the objective of this event, Mrs. Adelaide Abbiw-Williams; Head of Marketing at SES HD+ stated that, fathers play an important role in society and therefore deserve to be acknowledged and celebrated. She emphasized the importance of health and wellbeing and added that, the addition of a free medical screening to the maiden “Father’s Day Out” event is to demonstrate her brands priority for families and care for clients.

She said, “HD+ values the critical role fathers play in society and our individual lives and therefore we launched the trending campaign dubbed “Dads are the 5X Champions” this month. This campaign aims to help consumers recognize fathers for their leadership, selflessness, and make it easy to show dads, grandfathers, and father figures how much they are valued. Apart from partnering Happy FM to organize the Father’s Day Out and Medical screening event, we have created the platform for our customers to publicly appreciate their fathers on TV and also discounted the HD+ Decoder with 5 months free subscription as the best gift for Dad this season”.

The free medical screening; a component of the maiden Father’s Day Out event is scheduled for Saturday; 18th June 2022 at the Legon Botanical Gardens with confirmed appearances and performances by personalities such as Actor and Comedian Akrobeto, Actor Papa Nii, Musician Ex-Doe, Ex-Footballer and Coach Yaw Preko, Ex Footballer and Coach; Ibrahim Tanko, Former Black Stars Goal Keeper; Fatau Dauda and the dancing referee; Referee Sumo.
