As global cases of coronavirus pass ten million and deaths now exceed 500,000, the full impact of the deadly virus can be felt around the world.

Social distancing and lockdown measures have become the new normal for many, as shops, bars and restaurants close, and public gatherings are restricted.

While many countries with low infection levels are weighing up the risks of reopening borders to tourists, a number of countries are currently reporting no active cases at all.

A small number of countries have not had any cases of the virus since the pandemic began, while there are numerous others that are now virus free.

Countries with no reported cases

A small number of countries have managed to get through the pandemic without a single reported case of coronavirus.

Currently these include: Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, North Korea, Palau, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Turkmenistan, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.

Countries with no active cases

A number of countries have experienced cases of the virus throughout the pandemic, but are now reported to be Covid-19 free.

San Marino had the highest number of cases out of all of the currently Covid-19 free countries, with a total of 698. 656 have recovered and 42 are sadly reported to have died.

The Isle of Man also reports no current cases after 336 cases resulted in 312 recoveries and 24 deaths.

Also reporting no current coronavirus cases are Brunei, Aruba, Barbados, Liechtenstein, Sint Maarten, Monserrat, and the British Virgin Islands.

The Faeroe Islands had the highest number of cases out of the countries with no active cases, where all cases recovered.

187 people were reported to have the virus, all of which recovered leaving zero active cases and zero reported deaths.

Other countries reporting zero active cases, and zero deaths after all cases recovered include: St Vincent Grenadines, Timor-Leste, Grenada, New Caledonia, Laos, Saint Lucia, Dominica, Fiji, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Falkland Islands, Greenland, Vatican City, Caribbean Netherlands, St. Barth, Anguilla, and Saint Pierre Miquelon.

Countries with no reported deaths

There are also a number of countries that currently report no deaths due to coronavirus, but do still have active cases.

These include: Uganda, Vietnam, Mongolia, Eritrea, Namibia, Gibraltar, Cambodia, Bhutan, Seychelles, French Polynesia, Macao, Lesotho, and Papa New Guinea.
