Management of the landmark of shopping, dining and fun centre Junction Mall has donated several items to the Krowor Municipal Assembly for onward distribution to schools in the municipality to help them in the fight against COVID-19.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo during his twelfth (12th) update on government’s efforts to control the spread of COVID-19 in the country; the president among other things touched on re-opening of Senior High Schools (SHS) for final year and Gold track students on Monday, June 22, 2020; this Ebenezer Asare, Centre Manager for Junction Mall said necessitated the donation exercise.

Junction Mall donated several veronica buckets, Gallons of handwashing soap, boxes of medical face masks, several boxes of hand sanitisers, bundles of tissue and several boxes of branded cloth masks.

Speaking after handing over the relief items to the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Krowor Joshua Nii Bortey, Ebenezer Asare said: ‘’We are here this morning as corporate citizens, we all know the impact that the coronavirus has had on all sectors of the economy. Our food traffic at Junction Mall has also been impacted, however, we are here to give our widows mite to support the schools in the municipality and as the representative of the government we brought it to you.’’

He also mentioned that aside from donating items, the Junction Mall also have branded face masks at vantage points around the mall for people who come there and don’t have facemasks.
‘’We are adhering strictly to the ‘No mask No entry’ policy, but if for any reason someone comes to our outfit without a mask, we give them masks. We also have veronica buckets stationed at our premises to ensure frequent handwashing by clients and staff members. We are also ensuring that all the social distancing protocols are observed’’ Ebenezer Asare said.

The MCE Joseph Nii Bortey who received the items expressed gratitude to Junction Mall for their magnanimity.
‘’We all know COVID-19 is no respecter of persons and we all have to be careful and observe all the preventive protocols. Be rest assured that these items will go to the schools who need them. However, like ‘Oliver Twist’ we would ask for more, our municipality is a ‘baby’ so we need a lot of support to stand on our feet. We are grateful for all the items and government will hear of what you have done’’ the MCE said.

Khadija Usman, the Municipal Planning Officer for Krowor on her part asked for God’s blessings for Junction Mall.
‘’I pray that you will get multiple portions of what you have brought to us, may God bless your business abundantly. We are grateful and thank you’’ she said.

The junction shopping centre is the go-to venue for residents in search of popular clothing brands and restaurants. It serves a catchment population of 665 000 people with 374 parking bays and is firmly anchored with the Shoprite store and Decathlonas as well as well-known retailers, Mr Price and JET.
