The Manhyia Palace has announced that the final funeral rites of the late highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, will now take place on December 13, 2025, instead of the originally scheduled date of December 6.

The change was decided during a meeting at the Otumfuo Saamanhene Palace on November 10, 2025, where a new funeral committee, chaired by Dadiesoabahene, was appointed to oversee the arrangements.

During the meeting, Daddy Lumba’s sister, Ernestina Akosua Brempomaa, requested that a postmortem be conducted, citing suspicions of foul play surrounding her brother’s death. She further urged that the funeral be postponed until the results were available to determine the exact cause of death.

The chiefs confirmed that the postmortem would be handled by the police and affirmed December 13 as the new funeral date. They also advised the family to stay united and ensure a befitting farewell for the celebrated musician.

Regarding the invocation of the Great Oath, which Akosua Brempomaa had performed, the Asantehene has pardoned her, but cautioned her against repeating such actions in the future.
