The mother of an 8-year-old girl who tragically lost her life in a fire at Dansoman Market is still struggling to cope with the devastating loss.

The fire, which occurred around midnight on November 26, 2025, destroyed several wooden shops before being contained by the Fire Service.

Nana Adubea, NADMO’s Greater Accra Deputy Director, stated that assessments and support efforts are still underway to assist the affected family.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) confirmed that the young girl was trapped in one of the affected sections and could not be rescued, with her badly charred body handed over to the police for further investigation.

The community is rallying behind the grieving family, with donations and fundraising initiatives being organized to support them.

Counseling services are also being offered to help the family cope with the loss.

GNFS has appealed to the public to remain vigilant and exercise caution in market areas to prevent future tragedies.

The cause of the fire remains unknown, and investigations are ongoing.
