Former coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, David Duncan has rubbished reports making rounds that he always quits clubs in acrimony, asserting that those claims are completely false.
The ex-Hearts of Oak and Ashgold gaffer revealed that aside Kotoko and Hearts where he had to leave in the manner he did, he always left the other clubs on mutual agreements with the hierarchy of the those clubs.
Speaking on Happy FM after winning the Worst Coach of the Year in Happy FM’s Golden Bin Awards, Duncan recounted that when he was leaving Hasaacas, he got the blessings of Nanabenyin Eyison on his appointment as coach of the National Under-17 side.
“I have not always left clubs in acrimony as is being peddled around. It’s only at Kotoko and Hearts that I had to leave in the manner in which I did. At Hasaacas for instance, I got the full blessings of NanaBeyin Eyison so I could go join the Black Starlets because I had then been appointed as the head coach. He even paid me my full signing on fee even though I had only worked for One year out of my two year contract.” Duncan said intimated on Happy FM.
David Duncan beat off competition from Bashir Hayford, Yusif Basigi, Anthony Commey, Sergio Traguil, Herbert Addo and J.E Sarpong to win the Bindone d’Oro for WORST Coach of the Year.
