Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has counseled his grandson, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh “Napo”, to prove himself worthy of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s trust by being a loyal and dedicated running mate in the upcoming 2024 general election. The revered king urged Dr. Opoku Prempeh to remain faithful to Dr. Bawumia’s vision and heed his guidance, ensuring that their partnership yields success and never leads to regret.

On Tuesday, July 9, during the presentation of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II admonished him to be obedient and attentive to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s guidance, urging him to heed his advice and follow his leadership. Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, while showing support for Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, cautioned him against validating the perception of arrogance.

The esteemed king expressed his gratitude to President Akufo-Addo, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for selecting Dr. Opoku Prempeh as the running mate. He also entreated Dr. Bawumia to provide guidance and mentorship to Dr. Opoku Prempeh, and to keep him informed if his grandson ever strays from the right path or exhibits inappropriate behavior.
