The National Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, affectionately known as Nana B, has made an official announcement confirming that His Excellency Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President of Ghana, has been formally confirmed as the party’s presidential candidate for the upcoming 2024 December elections.

In a significant milestone, Dr. Bawumia submitted all the necessary documents required of him to the Electoral Commission’s office on Monday, September 9, thereby completing formalities to confirm his candidacy. He was accompanied by his running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, as well as the Party’s National Chairman, General Secretary, the Majority Leader in Parliament, and a few other key party leaders.

Dr. Bawumia is expected to address a gathering of enthusiastic party supporters at the NPP’s national headquarters in Accra. In a joyful and celebratory atmosphere, Nana B took to the stage to announce that all necessary protocols and procedures have been successfully observed, thereby confirming Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party and the party’s nominee for the presidency in the December polls.

With this announcement, Dr. Bawumia is now poised to lead the NPP into the 2024 elections, with the aim of securing the highest office of the land and becoming the next President of Ghana.
