Police must be the first port of call – Dr. Edward Omane Boamah

Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Director of Elections and IT for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has strongly kicked against allegations of number swapping during the presidential balloting process for the party.

According to him, despite the tensions between the NDC and the Electoral Commission (EC), allegations regarding a ballot swap between Kofi Akpalu and the New Patriotic Party’s Peter Mac Manu (NPP) hold no merit.

In a post on Facebook he said, “Yes! The Electoral Commission is a crime scene. And there are many proven facts to show. I will not dabble in unfounded allegations just because of politics.It must be stated without equivocation that there was no swap of ballots between Kofi Akpalu and the NPP”.

He emphasized that the NDC, known for its vigilance during the electoral process, has been instrumental in highlighting what they claim are numerous irregularities and flaws within the EC’s operations.

However, in this instance, he was absolutely sure in stating that no evidence supports claims of ballot swapping.

Dr. Boamah pointed to the fact that, so far, every allegation the NDC has made. against the EC has been backed by evidence, he urged people spreading rumors to go back and watch the videos.

“The #EAGLEEYES Team will not cry wolf when there’s no wolf. It is the reason our allegations against the EC have all been proven right so far… Watch the videos carefully, if you see a swap tell us the segment of the video clip that has the evidence. I repeat, there was no swap!”.
