Edmund Ackah chides Asante Kotoko over mid-season player sackings

Former Management member and Accra Representative of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Edmund Ackah has expressed worry about the massive player clear out that is currently ongoing in the club.
Kotoko have been in the news for all the wrong reasons for sacking four top stars and transfer-list several others without a justifiable reason.
Top striker Saddick Adams and defender Seth Opare have been put on the transfer-list while striker Yakubu Mohammed and defender Edwin Tuffuor have been sacked.
Frank Sarfo Gyamfi and Eric Donkor have also been sensationally put on ice – a decision which has ruffled feathers in Kumasi.
Speaking on Happy FM‘s Anopa Bosuo Sports show, Ackah said, “All the departed players are not starting eleven for Asante Kotoko but my worry is that if you are running a club we don’t do mass transfer in a mid season like this, it’s hard for me to say this but I need to say it because I don’t know the caliber of players coming to replace this guys.”
Reminiscing similar transfer that had taken place in the team, he deemed it was successful but he is skeptical about this particular transfer
“I think somewhere in a year 2010/2011 season, Dr Darling era we did similar thing but it work to the perfection because the players brought in were better than those we sacked and everybody saw the results, the likes of Ahmed Toure, Awal Mohammed, Michael Akuffu, Sabato and Fatau.  After the first round we added the likes of Jordan Opoku’s and co.”
He added that,”had So you saw the players coming in at that time and is not like this time around all you see is we have offloaded this players, we are yet to see those coming. I have never seen those coming in but will not believe those coming will be better than the sacked once the way the issue is managing is not appropriate at all”.
It has emerged that Coach Paa Kewesi Fabin is not happy over the performance of some players in the team which had led to contracts of Baba Mahama and four other players have been terminated by Kumasi Asante Kotoko over poor performance
The players received their contract termination letter at the club’s secretariat over poor performance.
Asante Kotoko have lost five in 12 games, amassing 17 points
