Deputy Communications Director at the Office of the President, Fatimatu Abubakar has described the re-election campaign bid of President Akufo-Addo as one for the youth.

According to her, the President has provided numerous interventions that have improved upon the lives of the ordinary Ghanaian youth making it their mandate to keep him in office for a second term.

Fatimatu made this call in an interview with Akosua Manu on Happy 98.9 FM’s Hard Facts political talk show.

“The Ghanaian youth should give their all towards the re-election of President Akufo-Addo. The youth should take over the campaign from Nana Addo and the NPP. He has done a lot for us and he is planning on doing better”.

She indicated that the NABCO initiative for one did not only provide jobs for the youth but to some extent provided interview experience to some of them. “Some of these NABCO beneficiaries had never been to an interview regardless of the numerous application letters they sent out. Now, we have a lot of them who have completed the program and have gained full time employment”.

Comparing the NPP’s youth oriented policies to the opposition, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), she stated that the latter’s policies were so abhorring and should not even be laughed over.

Citing the NDC’s Zinabu policy where they promised to give the youth an amount of money to rear pigs in an annual alternating fashion, she asked, “when would it even get to you?”

Fatimatu in advising the youth against voting for the NDC said, “Their policies are not for the people. But for their families”.

“Comparing what happened back in the NDC era and now, which government has done well by the youth? Between free SHS and stay at home coupled with state capture, which do you prefer?”, she asked.

Fatimatu believes Ex-President Mahama has not changed and is going to continue destroying Ghana when he comes back to power. “Nana Addo is the one with the country and its youth at heart”.
