The Adentan constituency witnessed a spectacle of support and celebration as Mr. Kwasi Obeng Fosu, fondly referred to as Baba Tauffic the Homeboy received his parliamentary nomination forms during the opening of nomination by the NPP for its ‘orphan’ constituencies. A massive number of residents joyously thronged Mr. Obeng Fosu’s campaign office to witness the momentous event.

Former Electoral Area Coordinator for Amrahia-Malejor, Mrs. Baaba Maison, and the current Coordinator for New Adentan East Electoral Area, Mr. Kelly Steve Oppong Nyinah, led the procession to present the nomination forms to Mr. Obeng Fosu. This procession, characterized by sining and dancing akin to a carnival, symbolized the immense enthusiasm and hope invested in the aspiring parliamentary candidate.

Among the attendees were numerous Constituency Executives, Electoral Area Coordinators, Members of the Council of Elders, Members of the Council of Patrons, Polling Station Executives, and dedicated party faithfuls, all fervently showing their unwavering support for Mr. Obeng Fosu’s candidacy.

Mrs. Baaba Maison, while presenting the nomination forms, praised Mr. Obeng Fosu’s dedication and hard work as a grassroots politician. She fondly recounted his instrumental role in securing the party’s first-ever twin victory in 2016 when Hon. Yaw Buaben Asamoa (Esq) won the parliamentary seat, and President Akufo-Addo triumphed in the presidential race within the constituency.

“Today, he has risen to become the youngest Member of the Council of Patrons and it is time to reward his hard work by rallying behind him for victory,” she remarked to a thunderous applause.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Obeng-Fosu expressed overwhelming gratitude and surprise at the outpouring of love and support from the community. As the current PRO of the Energy Ministry, he pledged not to take their confidence for granted. With the backing of the people and their prayers, he expressed unwavering belief in achieving victory for the NPP in the 2024 elections.

Dedicating the nomination forms to God and the party’s dedicated foot soldiers, Mr. Obeng-Fosu called on all party members to stand united and unwaveringly support him, the party, and the government. His ultimate goal is to secure a seat from Adentan and ensure a commanding majority in parliament, determined to “break the eight.”

“I assure you that the confidence you have reposed in me will not be taken for granted. With your support and prayers, and through Christ who strengthens us all, I believe that victory shall be ours in 2024”, he declared.

With the groundswell of support and enthusiasm witnessed during this nomination presentation, it is evident that the Adentan constituency has united behind their beloved “Homeboy” with an unyielding determination to reclaim the lost seat and propel the NPP to success in the upcoming elections.
