Your world of quality entertainment, eTV Ghana, in partnership with the ‘Feeli Feeli experience’ providers, HD+, gave the winner of eTV Ghana’s Father’s Day activation a special Father’s Day commemoration by presenting him with gifts worth hundreds of cedis, time on TV with his sons and surprising him with a celebrity guest.

eTV Ghana launched a Father’s Day activation titled ‘Daddy’s Screen Moments’ where people were allowed to send their stories narrating memorable moments they had with their fathers while watching television together. Bernard Nii Dodoo won the presents for his dad with his interesting story about how his dad advised him on how to choose a wife, which today, has helped him find the right partner.

To celebrate his father, Prince Nii Amu Dodoo, eTV Ghana invited Bernard and his twin brother, Benjamin, together with their father, to the studios for the special Father’s Day edition of the Men’s Lounge show on the 19th of June, as promised to whoever emerged the winner.

They appeared as special guests on the show to discuss the importance of father-child relationships with host, Nana Yaw Odame, after which Mr. Dodoo was awarded an HD Plus decoder with one year free subscription, and a flat screen television to be installed for free at his home.

Bernard and his twin brother, Benjamin during the interview, acknowledged that their father has been a been a blessing to them and they are very glad that he was always the father that they could go to whenever they had problems.

Mr Prince Nii Amu Dodoo also confessed that raising twin children is a very tough task, however, he is very happy about his boys and proud of them as well. He hinted that “even though it may be tough, the trick is to treat them like your friends instead of just treating them like your children and as they grow, you gently teach them the way to go. That is the best way”.

Programmes Manager of eTV Ghana, Mr. Cosby Bikpe, had this to say after the show, “Fathers are great life-impacting characters in our lives and there is no doubt they ought to be celebrated. ETV Ghana could not let this day go by without showing in our own little way how much we appreciate fathers and that is why we started the ‘Daddy’s screen moments’ campaign to fairly select and award one deserving father, whom in this case turned out to be Mr. Prince Nii Amu Dodoo. I also have to add that we could not have pulled this together without our able sponsor, HD Plus. They have been a great support system and we hope to do greater things together”.

Mrs. Adelaide Abbiw-Williams, Head of Marketing at SES HD PLUS, joined to present the prizes and to explain why her brand partnered this campaign. “We decided to sponsor this campaign because with HD+, we like to enhance family bonding moments. We know that when you’re watching tv and you can see what is on the screen clear and ‘feeli feeli’, it enhances the emotions and as a family, if you’re watching tv and you can enjoy yourselves, then you can go to bed feeling good”, she said.

Adelaide added, “We also appreciate the role that fathers play in the society and even at the individual level. Fathers allow us to be able to see what is the most important thing in life. They instill values into us so even though June 19th was set aside this year to celebrate fathers, we at HD+ decided to celebrate fathers the whole month”.

Popular actor, Oscar Provencal known widely as Inspector Bediako, joined as a surprise guest on the show and gave a few words of appreciation and gratitude to fathers like Mr. Dodooand himself. “Fatherhood is not an easy task and it entails a lot of sacrifice. It’s probably the most difficult thing to do and I think fathers are the most underrated members of the family because of the sacrifices they have to make without pulling a long face and always putting on a smile makes everybody think that everything is okay. To Mr. Dodoo here and to all the fathers out there, may God richly bless you”.
