The Ghana Prisons Service has issued a strong disclaimer regarding a flyer circulating on social media falsely advertising a recruitment exercise for Prison Office Assistants (POAs) under the Youth Employment Agency (YEA).
In a statement signed by Chief Superintendent of Prisons Abdul Latif Adamu, Chief Public Relations Officer of the Service, the Prisons Administration disassociated itself from the flyer, stating that it has no knowledge of the advertisement or its contents.
“The Ghana Prisons Service strongly disassociates itself from this advertisement as it has no knowledge or information of the content on the flyer and cautions the public to treat this as fake news,” the statement read.
The Service emphasized that any legitimate recruitment efforts in collaboration with the Youth Employment Agency would be communicated through official and reliable media channels.
“Until such announcement is officially made, all such advertisement must be regarded as fake,” it cautioned.
The public has been urged to disregard the false recruitment notice and remain vigilant to avoid falling victim to potential scams.
