Former Asante Kotoko National Circle Circus (NCC) Chairman, Osei Boateng says former board members and management are willing to work with the new board for the club’s improvement.

According to reports, the Board of the Kumasi-based club, has been dissolved following the expiration of the three-year mandate which is due to expire in August this year.

The Board was chaired by Dr. Kwame Kyei.

“This is not the first time the board has been dissolved instead, what I’m expecting is that the team can recover and progress past this with the guidance of the Otumfuo. Also, with the incoming board, we are ready to support and revive the club. Things in the club haven’t been smooth for some seasons now, talk of the division between the club and fans, etc. We are ready to help resolve such problems,” Osei Boateng said on Happy FM.

Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the club’s owner, appointed the board in May 2020, and their three-year tenure has come to an end. According to various sources, the club’s owner is eager to set a new course.

With the board’s mandate not being renewed, the management team, led by Nana Yaw Amponsah, will also be stepping down. Amponsah was appointed in August on a three-year contract.

As of now, it is unclear who will spearhead the club’s new approach. Kotoko had a difficult previous season, finishing without a trophy and exiting the CAF Champions League early.
