Ghanaian filmmaker and writer, Kofi Asamoah (KOFAS) has opined that Ghanaian comedian and actor, Benson Boateng aka Funny Face needs medical attention because he may be suffering from emotional trauma.

According to him, the actions of Funny Face over the past few days points to the fact that he has some underlying issues and may not be the usual industry beef.

He made this revelation on Happy98.9FM’s ‘Showbiz Xtra’ with Doctar Cann.

According to him, “It seems there is an underlying problem. Funny Face is not irrelevant for us to say he’s doing this for relevance. From his videos posted on social media, you can notice that he feels betrayed and is suffering emotionally. He needs some mental heath assistance”.

Kofas reiterated that betrayal is one of the most painful things one goes through and stuff like that can even cause him (Funny Face) to take his life.
“People commit suicide and we say it was the devil but it was emotional trauma”, he said.

On his authority, when you talk about people suffering from mental health, Ghanaians think you mean the person is mad and the issue is taken for granted in the country.

“When someone says he’s depressed we don’t pay attention to it. We take it for granted and insult people for saying you have a mental health problem”.

The filmaker noted that individuals with mental health issues usually do not know they suffer as such. “They will not seek medical attention. Those who suffer it don’t see it but they need help”.

He appealed to mental health experts to appraoch and help Funny Face deal with his problems before it will be too late.

Funny Face over the past few days has been seen on social media throwing tantrums, accusing fellow colleagues of betrayal and raining curses on others.
