The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General William Agyapong, has expressed satisfaction with the smooth conduct of the ongoing Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) recruitment exercise across centres in the Greater Accra Region.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, November 20, 2025, after a delegation from the Parliamentary Select Committee on Defence and Interior, led by its Chairman, James Agalga, toured some recruitment centres, Lt. Gen. Agyapong said comprehensive measures have been instituted to prevent a recurrence of the tragic incident recorded at the El Wak Sports Stadium.
He extended his condolences to the families of the victims, stressing that the GAF has learnt important lessons and is committed to implementing stronger safety protocols in all subsequent recruitment exercises.
Lt. Gen. Agyapong also assured the Committee that applicants are adhering to the guidelines, adding that the process has so far been orderly and incident-free.
