President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has interdicted the Chief Executive (DCE) of Bosome Freho District in the Ashanti Region.
Yaw Danso had been heard in a leaked tape, claiming some percentage from a share of a galamsey concession and encouraging others to go to Chinese at night to claim monies from them for illegal mining.
He was summoned by President Akufo-Addo through the Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Decentralization, Daniel Botwe.
President Akufo-Addo had told colleague chief executives, at a crunch meeting in Kumasi, that said the issue would be thoroughly investigated.
On Friday, October 14, Mr Botwe was instructed again by the president to suspend Mr Danso.
“The suspension, which takes immediate effect, would allow for investigations to be carried out by the appropriate agencies to verify the authenticity of the alleged audio recording.”
