The Ghana Education Service (GES) has refuted media reports suggesting that comedian and teacher, Michael Owusu Afriyie, popularly known as Teacher Kwadwo, has been reinstated into the Service.
In a statement signed by the Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, the GES described the reports as “false and misleading.”
“The attention of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has been drawn to reports circulating in sections of the media suggesting that Mr. Michael Owusu Afriyie, popularly known as Teacher Kwadwo, has been reinstated into the Service. The Ghana Education Service wishes to state that the report is false. Mr. Owusu Afriyie has not been reinstated.”
The Service further noted that if Mr. Owusu Afriyie believes his dismissal in 2021 was unfair, he has the right to petition for a review.
The public has therefore been urged to ignore such claims and rely solely on official information from the GES.
