The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the official academic calendar for basic schools nationwide, covering Kindergarten, Primary, and Junior High Schools for the 2025/2026 academic year.

According to a release signed by Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations at GES, schools will reopen on September 2, 2025, and the academic year will run through to July 24, 2026.

The Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) has been scheduled for May 4 to May 11, 2026, giving students ample time to prepare.

Each term will include a two-day mid-term break, and public holidays will be observed throughout the academic year.

GES extended its appreciation to heads of schools, teachers, parents, and students for their commitment during the 2024/2025 academic year, which concludes on July 24, 2025.
