GFA Elections: Kurt Okraku is worthy of a second term – Greater Accra RFA chairman

In a show of strong support, the Greater Accra Regional Football Association (RFA) chairman, Samuel Aboabire, has publicly endorsed Kurt Okraku for a second term as President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

The endorsement comes as Okraku’s four-year tenure as GFA President draws to a close, and the football association gears up for an important Elective Congress next month.

Kurt Okraku assumed the role of GFA President in 2019, after a closely contested presidential election. Throughout his tenure, opinions about his leadership have been diverse, with some delegates expressing reservations while others laud his achievements.

However, the backing of 10 RFA chairmen, including Samuel Aboabire from Greater Accra, serves as a significant boost to Okraku’s bid for re-election.

Their resounding endorsement reflects the confidence they have in his ability to steer Ghana football in the right direction.

The upcoming Elective Congress, scheduled for September 27, will potentially see Okraku go head-to-head with a former Vice President of the Ghana Football Association, George Afriyie, who finished as the runner-up in the previous presidential election.

According to Samuel Aboabire, under Okraku’s leadership, the GFA has achieved notable milestones, contributing to the growth and success of Ghana’s national football teams.

As the campaign and preparations for the Elective Congress unfold, all eyes will be on Kurt Okraku and his vision for the future of Ghana football. With the strong support from 10 RFA chairmen, Okraku’s bid for a second term seems poised for success.
