The Black Stars have staged another comeback in the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers after beating Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Monday, June 10, 2024.

On the day that Jordan Ayew marked his 100th international appearance for the Black Stars, the Crystal Palace striker scored a hat trick in front of the Kumasi crowd to win the game for Ghana from a losing position.

Ghana took the lead in the first half through Jordan Ayew’s penalty but Central African Republic responded well with Louis Mafouta’s first two goals to end the first half with a 2-1 advantage.

The BLACK Stars returned for the second half with eagerness to win the game as Jordan Ayew scored twice to make it a hat trick in the game while Fatawu Issahaku also got a goal in the game to solidify Ghana’s lead.

Central African Republic nearly snatched a point from losing position in the final 10 minutes but Louis Mafouta’s third goal in the game was not enough for the visitors to draw the game as its ended 4-3 in favour of Ghana at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
