Ghana added to South Africa’s E-Visa list

The High Commission of the Republic of South Africa has announced that Ghana has been included in South Africa’s E Visa list. This development allows Ghanaian nationals to conveniently apply for visas online, eliminating the need for in-person visits to the High Commission.

Previously, Ghanaians seeking visas for South Africa had to visit the High Commission in person, a process that could be time-consuming and inconvenient. However, with Ghana’s addition to the E Visa list, applicants can now complete their visa applications from the comfort of their homes through the official Department of Home Affairs portal at www.dha.gov.za.

While the application process has been simplified, it’s essential to note that certain requirements must still be met. These include providing passport details, a letter of invitation or proof of accommodation, and a bank statement. These documents will be verified upon the traveler’s arrival at a South African point of entry.

Additionally, for those individuals whose passports have been held by the High Commission for more than three months, arrangements can be made for collection at VFS Global Offices.

This significant change in the visa application process marks a positive step in enhancing travel and trade between Ghana and South Africa. It is expected to facilitate smoother and more accessible travel for Ghanaians wishing to visit or conduct business in South Africa.

This announcement, issued by the High Commission of South Africa, underscores the commitment to fostering closer ties and cooperation between the two nations and simplifying travel procedures for their citizens.
