The Minister for Food and Agriculture, Byran Acheampong says, government will track the activities of farmers on a platform called Ghana Agriculture and Agribusiness Platform (GhAAP) to ensure accountability and transparency.

According to him, as part of governments plan to ensure fairness and transparency in the agriculture sector, it has introduced the Ghana Agriculture Agribusiness Platform (GHAAP), which will track and monitor farmers.

‘’All farmers who want to benefit from government’s grants and funding must be registered on the GhAA Platform using the Ghana Card,’’.

‘’Out of the two point five million (2.5 million), Eight Hundred Thousand (8000) farmers have registered’’, Bryan Acheampong revealed.

The Ministry as part of efforts to ensure that there is progress in its dealings has equipped its Agriculture Extension Officers with tablets, to aid their work.

‘’All 2700 Agric extension officers have all been given Samsung A9 tablets, which cost 4000 cedis, on which the GhAA platform has been installed.

According to him, “Once you register as a farmer, you are liable to enjoy some privileges.”

The Ghana Agriculture Agribusiness Platform App is available on google play store for interested farmers to download and register.
