The Minister for Defence, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, has announced that recruitment into the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) will begin latest by September this year.
Sharing the update via his official Facebook page on Saturday, July 19 after an extensive 11-hour visit to the 1 Garrison, Dr. Boamah revealed that government plans to enlist 12,000 new personnel between 2025 and 2028 as part of efforts to boost the country’s security infrastructure.
He emphasized that the recruitment process will be based strictly on merit, cautioning prospective applicants against falling for bribery schemes.
“Remember, joining the Ghana Armed Forces is based on merit, not money,” he stated.
Dr. Boamah commended the professionalism and dedication of the troops he interacted with during his visit, assuring that the welfare of both current and future personnel remains a top priority for the Ministry.
