The Ghana Police Service has taken a significant step to enhance maritime security with the commissioning of new patrol boats for its marine police units.
The ceremony, attended by top government officials and police personnel, marked a major milestone in the country’s efforts to protect its maritime interests and ensure the safety of its citizens.
Inspector General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, welcomed the addition of the new patrol boats, stating that they would undoubtedly strengthen the marine police units’ capabilities to effectively patrol Ghana’s waters, respond to emergencies, and prevent maritime crimes.
He expressed gratitude to the Minister for the Interior and the government for their unwavering support to the Ghana Police Service.
In his address, IGP Yohuno urged marine police personnel to utilize the new assets effectively and work tirelessly to safeguard the country’s maritime borders. He expressed confidence that the personnel would serve the nation well and continue to excel in their duties.
