The Government of Ghana has announced an emergency evacuation exercise for Ghanaians living in Qatar following heightened security concerns in the region.
In a statement issued by the Embassy of the Republic of Ghana in Qatar, the mission referred to an earlier notice dated March 6, 2026, and informed Ghanaian nationals in the country that the government had decided to undertake the evacuation exercise as a precautionary measure.
The embassy noted that the arrangement is strictly a one-way evacuation exercise from Qatar to Ghana.
Ghanaians in Qatar who wish to be evacuated immediately have been urged to reconfirm their interest by submitting the biodata pages of their passports via email to doha@mfa.gov.gh.
The embassy added that the required documents must be submitted no later than Tuesday, March 17, 2026.
