Ghanaian actress and movie producer, Selassie Ibrahim, has stated on e. TV Ghana’s ‘The Late Nite Celebrity show’ that Ghanaians do not patronize Ghanaian movies because TV stations do not help in promoting Ghanaian movies.

In an interview with the host ,Foster Romanus, Selassie Ibrahim expressed her disappointment in how Ghanaians do not put in any effort in promoting “our own” but rather promoting Nigerian movies.

“Nigerians love their own and you will never see Nigerians showing Ghanaian movies in their county,” she said.

“TV stations do not create space for us to promote our movies, ” she added.

She also mentioned that TV stations expect barter trade and also pay small amount of money for the movies to be promoted.

“The little we produce; they either expect barter or even the money they want to give cannot even pay an artist,” she said.
