Ghanaians love foreigners than themselves – Highlife Legend

Veteran Ghanaian Highlife Singer/Producer, Obiba Sly Collins has asserted that Ghanaians express love to foreigners more than they do amongst themselves.

According to him, although this attitude is seen in most parts of the world, it is mostly common amongst Ghanaians.

Talking to Rev. Nyansa Boakwa on Happy 98.9FM’s Obra Yi’s Edition of NsemPii he said, “We love and appreciate foreigners more than our Ghanaian brothers and sisters who are close to us. It is hard for a Ghanaian to support another Ghanaian but very easy for a Ghanaian to support a foreigner”.

He believes this is part of the reasons why black people especially Ghanaians, are still where we are today.

“This is why we are still suffering and cannot move forward as a country” he said.

The artiste who has been advocating for a peaceful and loving country since he started his music career mentioned that, ‘there are no improvement and things are still the same, it’s still hard for Ghanaians to love and support themselves’.

“I believe it is our greatest problem and if we love ourselves and show ourselves as much love and care as we need, then the country will be a good place for all of us to live in” he charged.
