The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Shama in the Western Region, Emelia Arthur has stated that Ghana’s economy requires an immediate reset, rather than the upgrade proposed by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in their manifesto. She criticized the NPP-led government under President Nana-Addo as the worst in terms of economic initiatives, highlighting the country’s numerous economic crises.

She argued that Ghana needs a visionary leader with initiatives to put the country back on track, emphasizing that John Dramani Mahama and the NDC are the right choices. She addressed the recent debate between the NPP and NDC on whether the country needs an upgrade or a reset, asserting that the Nana-Addo government has damaged the economy to the point where it requires a reset.

Using a mobile phone analogy, Emelia Arthur explained that when a phone is damaged, it needs to be reset rather than upgraded, as upgrading a damaged phone is impossible.

“When your phone is damaged and someone tries to call you, but you’re unable to answer or hang up, the only solution is to reset it. You can’t upgrade a damaged phone, but you can reset it to get it working again”, she said.

She argued that Ghana needs good policies to reset and move the country forward from the mess created by the NPP government, emphasizing that the NDC manifesto outlines the necessary steps to achieve this and will be implemented if voted into power.
