Miniso, a global retail chain, has entered an agreement with Miniso Ghana to open its first store in the third quarter of this year.

Miniso is a Japanese designer global brand with operations in over 80 countries across Europe, the Americas, Africa, Australia and Asia.

The brand manufactures and retails health and beauty products, digital, sports,
and travel accessories, bags and fashion items, home tools, food and beverages, textiles, toys, writing devices and gifts among others.

The initial stores in Ghana will be open in Accra, with plans to open in regional capitals including Kumasi and Takoradi within the next 3 years.

Speaking on Miniso’s entry into the Ghanaian market, Edinam Akpakli, General Manager expressed optimism about their prospects in the market.

“Miniso is excited to join Ghana’s emergent retail market with the introduction of ten (10) stores in the next three (3) years. We are optimistic about becoming a one stop shop to meet all the retail needs of Ghanaians”, he mentioned.

He added that “beyond bringing trendy and quality products to the Ghanaian market, the prices of Miniso’s products are some of the most reasonable in the world. We expect similar low and affordable price points for the Ghanaian market.”

Since opening its first store in 2013, Miniso has opened over 3,600 stores worldwide,
with 80-100 new stores opening every month. The number of stores is expected to
reach 6,000 by 2025.

Miniso holds licenses and rights to manufacture branded products based on characters from Disney, Hello Kitty, Sponge Bob and global entertainment powerhouse, Marvel Entertainment.
