The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Gomoa East, Naana Ackom, has pledged to rehabilitate deteriorating roads within the district, withparticular focus on the stretch from Potsin to Awromrew.

The projects will be part of the Mahama-led administration’s Big Push Agenda, aimed at improving infrastructure and easing transportation challenges.

Speaking to Happy Kaseɛbɔ’s Atta Buabeng during the launch of the 2026 Potsin Akwambo Festival on October 3, 2025, Madam Ackom assured traditional leaders that she would work closely with the Central Regional Minister who hails from Potsin and the Member of Parliament to ensure the Potsin road is prioritized. As the district capital, Potsin plays a vital role in regional connectivity and development.

In addition to infrastructure, the DCE pledged full support to the festival’s planning committee, expressing her desire to elevate the event into one of Ghana’s premier cultural celebrations capable of attracting investors and boosting local tourism.

Addressing the ongoing water crisis caused by illegal mining activities, Madam Ackom reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to supplying water to affected communities until a permanent solution is found.

The Odikro of Gomoa Potsin, Nana Tweiku Adasoa IX, commended the DCE for her proactive leadership during the crisis. He also encouraged the youth to participate in communal labor and take their education seriously to secure a better future for themselves and the community.
