A lecturer and Director for the Centre for European Studies at the University of Ghana has descended on the inability of communicators of the governing New Patriotic Party to live up to the expectation of explaining government business to the people.
According to Prof. Ransford Gyampo, the Vice president Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia is doing a better job in communicating government business to the people than the various government communicators.
He maintained from the look of developments in the body politics of the current government the large number of four ministers at the Information and Communications ministries is needless.
He however, singled out the Member of Parliament for Ofuasi-Ayerebi and Deputy Minister for Information; Kojo Oppong Nkrumah for doing an exceptional job in communicating government policies in the country.
He noted that the four ministers at the ministers are needless in terms of communicating government business to the people.
Prof. Ransford Gyampo made this comment when he interacted with Kwame Afrifa-Mensah on the ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show on Accra –based Happy FM.
He explained the Vice president is a better communicating to the people than the numerous individuals parading themselves as government communicators.
He warned the Vice president must not be seen to be doing the work of the government communicators.
This is not the best because the government communicators are not doing their job as expected of them.
He called on the government communicators to up their game in the explanation of government policies to the people.
From the look of things I think that the communicators are doing a disservice to the Nana Akufo-Addo’s government he said.
