The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition has announced the successful completion of a critical upgrade to ENI’s gas infrastructure, increasing national gas supply from 245 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) to 270 MMscfd.
The move is to provide stable, secure, and sustainable energy future.
In an official statement, the Ministry credited the accomplishment to coordinated efforts between ENI and stakeholders across the power sector, adding that the enhancement will significantly strengthen electricity generation, support economic expansion, and reduce dependency on imported energy.
“This enhancement in gas supply is a significant step towards ensuring a reliable and sustainable energy supply for the nation.
The increased capacity will support the power sector and contribute to the overall economic growth of Ghana.”
The gas boost is expected to fuel multiple power plants and industrial corridors, reducing operational disruptions and improving supply to homes and businesses.
The Ministry expressed gratitude to the public for their patience and cooperation during the implementation phase, emphasizing that public support remains crucial to Ghana’s broader energy transformation strategy.
Richmond Rockson, Spokesperson and Head of Communication for the Ministry, reiterated the government’s long-term vision for a modern, resilient energy sector.
“We are committed to delivering consistent and improved power supply for all Ghanaians. This upgrade demonstrates progress—and our resolve to keep moving forward.”
