Game week two of the 2021-2022 Ghana Premier League kicked off on Friday as Hearts of Oak played their second game of the league against WAFA.

Samuel Boadu’s men settled for a point in a 1-1 draw against the Academy boys in the Sogakope Stadium, courtesy a Kofi Kordzi goal, while Sampson Agyapong got the equalizer for WAFA in the 59th minute.

On Saturday in Obuasi at the Len Clay Stadium, AshantiGold were also helped at home to Karela United in a 1-1 game. With both goals coming from the first period of the game, Hamin Dafie got the opener for Karela as Isaac Agyeman converted from the penalty spot to put AshGold level in the match.

Legon Cities ended up on the winning side in a five-goal thriller encounter against newly-promoted Real Tamale United (RTU). David Abagna’s brace was not enough to secure a point for the newbies.

Alhaji Grunsah’s King Faisal broke Aduana’s home dominance at the Nana Agyeman Badu Stadium in a 3-1 win. Ibrahim Osman’s goal and a double from Amar Latif sealed all three points for King Faisal.

Ismail Ganiyu’s double guided Asante Kotoko to a win in their first match at the Baba Yara Stadium, while Berekum Chelsea played out a goalless draw against Eleven Wonders at the Golden City Park.

Elmina Sharks lost 3-1 at home at the Nduom Sports Stadium to Dreams FC, as Kwaku Karikari scored twice and a goal from Agyenim Mensah was enough to guarantee the freshmen a win.

Elsewhere at the Accra Sports Stadium, Accra Great Olympics stunned Accra Lions 3-1 in a ravening derby. Maxwell Abbey Quaye’s hattrick for Olympics was the first in the league this season.

The final game for the second round of the 2021-2022 GPL will see Bibiani Gold Stars on road to Tarkwa in their game against Medeama at the Akoon Park on Monday, November 9th.
