The General Secretary of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association, Dr. David Tenkorang Twum, is accusing the Health Minister of disregarding nurses. He blasted the Minister for exchanging pleasantries with Ralph Williams, the man accused of assaulting health professionals.
The assault happened at the Emergency Department of the Greater Accra Regional Hospital. Relatives of a patient stormed the ward, confronted staff over alleged delays, and physically attacked a nurse.
Hospital security and the Ghana Police rushed in and restored order.
Dr. Tenkorang Twum condemned the attack, calling it interference and aggression against healthcare workers. He warned that such acts endanger service delivery and put patients’ lives at risk.
