The management of Ghana Water Limited (GWCL) in the Central Region has announced ongoing initiatives to ensure steady water supply to Cape Coast, Elmina, and surrounding communities.

In a statement, GWCL reported significant improvements in water production at the Sekyere Hemang Water Treatment Plant, which services these areas.

The statement revealed that the plant is now achieving an average turbidity level of 9,000 NTU, reduced from a previous level of 14,000 NTU. This improvement is attributed to the efforts of the Central Regional Security Council, under the leadership of Regional Minister Justina Marigold Assan.

Consequently, water production at the plant has risen from 1,981, 290 gallons per day to 2,773,807 gallons per day, assuring residents that steps are being taken to meet the growing water demand.

GWCL also recognized the Regional Security Council’s role in enhancing raw water quality and pledged to keep the public informed about any changes that could impact supply.

They expressed gratitude for the council’s prompt assistance and encouraged customers to use water responsibly, reaffirming their commitment to providing reliable water services.
