Happy 98.9 FM’s Doctar Can gets a nomination at GMPA 21

The host of Ghana’s number one weekend show, Showbiz Xtra on Happy 98.9 FM, Doctor Cann, christened Francis Cann has bagged a nomination in the Radio Entertainment Show Host of the Year category of the 2021 edition of the Ghana Media Personality Awards (GMPA).

The veteran radio presenter who has helped many underground artistes into mainstream says this nomination just reinforces his contributions to the growth of the Showbiz Industry in Ghana.

“When you do your best and you get recognized for it, it spurs you on to achieve more. I have been instrumental in the careers of so many artistes in Ghana and I will continue to do so with my platforms.
Speaking on Doctar Cann’s nomination, the Director of Global Media Alliance, Timothy Karikari said:

” Doctar Cann’s unconventional approach to entertainment makes him stand out amongst his peers. He is always creating content for others to use and that is what a true radio personality does. He deserves this nomination and when he wins it is going to be a win for all of us at Happy 98.9 FM. Congratulations Doctar Cann and keep making us proud.”

On the Showbiz Xtra entertainment show, listeners are educated and entertained with varying degrees of music, entertainment news, interviews and analytical discussions centered around the Ghanaian music scene and its development. Showbiz Xtra has also been nominated in Radio Entertainment Show of the Year category.
